Our Associates - Lest We Forget

Milan Mandir would also remember with gratitude, the names of many persons who have contributed in making it a melting point of Bengali ethos and providing a platform to practice cultural, religious and social activities, by their imagination, creativity and hard work.

Appended below are the names of some of our associates who would be always be remembered for their selfless work since 1948.

1960 to 1980

Many members joined Milan Mandir at subsequent stages to make it a vibrant place for practicing art and cultural activities other than pujas. The names of few prominent members are as follows.

Shri Surjo Kumar Mukherjee.
A dedicated member of Milan Mandir in the sixties/seventies, who had donated Rs 500 to rebuild the stage,which was damaged during a storm.

( founder Editor of Miloni )
Shri Hari Prasad Chatterjee,
Shri Ramendu Bikash Sen ,
Shri Amal Kumar Guha,
( provided administrative and managerial services in the functioning of Milan Mandir).

( provided the services of a librarian)

( Instrumental in staging dance, drammas, namely Shyama and Chandalika)

and many others were instrumental in their contributions in staging memorable plays on Milan Mandir stage down the ages.

Shri Manish (Pushu) Dutta,

Shri Gora Chakravorty,

played crucial role in staging many Hindi plays on Milan Mandir stage.

Dr Bibhash Mitra,
Shri Shibapada Dutta and
Shri Umakant Khare.
were the ultimate make up artists providing believable looks to the characters on stage.

Shri Bamacharan Bhattacharya,
was the priest to perform the first Durga Puja in Milan Mandir and continued for several years.

Shri Ajit Kumar Bhaduri
for his services in administration and management

Shri Hiranmoy Majumdar ,
Shri Rabindra Nath Chakravorty,
Shri D C Das
provided yeomen services at Puja mandap and also during Bhog preparation and distribution

1981 Onwards

Beside the above, many members who became associated with Milan Mandir in subsequent years have also contributed their energy, efforts, imaginations and talents to sustain the existence of Milan Mandir and continue with the activities.
